About us

Welcome to Clear Hills Lamb,
Our journey breeding Southdown sheep began in 1928, producing rams for the prime lamb industry. Southdown lamb is highly sought after for its quality and taste.
Emma and Nick along with their three children Josh, Archie and Dulcie are 3rd and 4th generations of the Hooper family to farm at Goorambat. We continue annually to supply our in demand rams to prime lamb producers.
Southdown used as a cross bred produces a easy lambing, feed efficient and carcase dense lamb.
In 2010 Clear Hills invested in the Charollais breed of sheep in Australia. This breed offers good milking, heavy carcased animal with clean points. The Charollais have exceptional motherly instincts and raise well fed and fantastic muscled lambs. Crossed with the Southdown to ensure the succulent taste and marbled meat.
In 2021 we embarked on a new adventure and created a commercial flock of Southdown/ Charollais ewes. These ewes produce a fantastic product.
While we have been sharing our secret with prime lamb producers for decades its now time to share directly with you our consumers.
In 2021 we had our first crop of prime lambs, which we are excited to share directly to you our customers.
The Southdown / Charollais lamb has amazing flavour, is tender, delicious and beautifully marbled. It stores well in the fridge and freezes well and the tastiest lamb you will put on your fork!
